Why
E-One Fire Trucks?
Emergency
One (aka "E-One") is the industry leader in fire and emergency
vehicle manufacturing with more than 18,000 vehicles in
operation around the world.
E-One
is unique as a single-source manufacturer. E-One engineers
and builds the complete vehicle - chassis, cab, body and
aerial device. Since VSI is an authorized dealer, we can
satisfy your after-sale needs with just one call. Whether
it's parts, service, warranty, training or manuals, we're
here to serve you.
All
components are field tested and proven. E-One does
not take shortcuts in the manufacturing process. Consider
the following advantages of E-One. |
|
Experience:
Established
in 1974, E-One grew to become the industry leader in
less than 20 years, and today employs more than
1,600 people in seven plants totaling more than
550,000 square feet. Innovation has been the company's
driving force and continues to be the impetus behind
our pursuit of new technologies. The result is
state-of-the-art emergency response vehicles recognized
for superior fire fighting and rescue capabilities.

Aluminum
Construction:
E-One
pioneered the use of aluminum in emergency response
vehicles and continues to lead the industry today
with innovative uses of this superior material.
Why is aluminum superior? Aluminum
is resistant to corrosion and will not rust, resulting
in much longer field life than conventional trucks.
Due
to the aluminum construction, E-One trucks weigh
an average of 20 to 25 percent less than trucks
made of steel. There is less wear and tear on the engine, transmission, brakes
and tires. The result is extended vehicle life
and reduced maintenance cost.
Though
lighter in weight, E-One trucks are as strong or stronger
than conventional trucks. Less weight gives you more
payload (equipment and water) capacity. |

Extrusions:
Heating
aluminum and pushing it through a die to give it shape
makes extrusions. The extrusion is just as strong
on a corner as it is on a flat surface. Slots in
the extrusion let E-One slide in the body's aluminum
outer skin, creating a durable tongue-and-groove
assembly, which is then welded into place. This
interlocking of extrusions and body plate makes
for an extremely strong, yet lightweight, cab and
body.
E-One's
modular construction makes it easier and less expensive
to repair a body, if it's in an accident. It's much
more feasible to rechassis for an extended service
life, if needed.
The
extended field life of E-One's aluminum cabs and bodies
result in higher re-sale or trade-in value, and
the ability to improve your total vehicle replacement
cycle.
It
seems like a paradox. E-One uses lower strength,
lighter weight alloy materials to produce a stronger
truck body.

Fast
Delivery :
You
won't wait over a year for your E-One truck. E-One's
high-tech approach to vehicle manufacturing also
enables us to have the fastest delivery in the
industry. We can deliver commercial pumpers and
rescues in as little as 45 to 60 days, custom pumpers
in four to six months and aerials in as little as
seven to nine months. |
